How to Invite Friends in YAPYAP (Co-op)

YAPYAP supports Online Co-op with up to 5 friends. Use this safe, Steam-first flow to avoid common invite failures.

Step 0 — Quick checklist

  • You and your friends are added on Steam
  • Launch the game via Steam (Overlay enabled)
  • If your Steam account is limited, ask friends to send invites to you

Step 1 — Make sure Steam Overlay works

Default hotkey: Shift + Tab. If it doesn’t open, enable Overlay in Steam settings and close conflicting overlays.

Step 2 — Create or join a lobby in-game

Enter the game’s Multiplayer / Co-op flow and get into a lobby state where invites are available.

Step 3 — Invite via Steam Overlay

  1. Press Shift + Tab in-game
  2. Open Friends list → right-click a friend
  3. Choose Invite to Lobby / Invite to Game

If the invite option doesn’t show, you’re likely not in a lobby yet—go back to Step 2.

Step 4 — Run a mic check before starting

Open Steam → Friends & Chat → ⚙ → Voice and run Microphone Test. Confirm transmission type (PTT/Voice activation) and keybinds if needed.
